Key Aspects of our Online Program

As a parent, you want to provide your student with the best possible academic environment. For some students, an online learning environment may be the best. There is nothing magical about online high school learning; it still requires a close partnership between the student, the parent, and the instructional staff - just as it would in a traditional school setting.

Flexibility: One of the primary reasons that families enroll in an online school is to make it work with their unique family schedule and responsibilities. There is no reason that school must be accomplished between the hours of 8am and 3pm. Learning can take place anywhere at any time. The majority of assignments in GCSO courses are asynchronous, meaning they can be completed at the time and location that best suits the needs of the student. Attending one of our open houses is a great way to learn how GCSO has provided flexible schooling for families around the world.

Outstanding instructional staff: Research has shown that the number one factor in student success in online high school classes is teacher quality and preparation. The instructional staff at Global Christian School Online has hundreds of years of combined teaching experience. Not only are they qualified instructors, each one is a dedicated Christian who shares a common worldview. Each instructor has dedicated his or her professional life to encouraging and training up the next generation of Christian leaders. You can meet our teaching and administrative staff here

Quality curriculum: The instructional content used at Global Christian School Online has been selected for its academic rigor, clear organization, and flexibility. Instructors have the ability to customize their courses, tailoring them to the specific needs of the students in the course. Course content meets or exceeds all state and national learning standards. Interaction: One of the common misconceptions about online learning is that students don’t interact with their peers and instructors because they are not physically present. Interaction between students and between the student and instructor are a key factor in the quality of an online program and a good indicator of student success. Because of this research, the courses at Global Christian School Online have a significant social component, incorporating common web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, and discussion boards to encourage interaction between students and teachers. Additional synchronous (real-time) communication via chat or video conferencing is coordinated by each instructor as necessary. One of the best ways to experience the interactive nature of our courses is by signing up for a free Bible course

Personal Attention: Learning online is a new experience for most students. It’s critical that students feel connected and cared for. To foster this relationship, each student will be assigned to an academic mentor who will monitor the overall progress of the student. Students are encouraged to communicate struggles and challenges with the academic mentor who will seek to arrange for additional support for the student. Global Christian School Online is designed to meet the needs of learners in unique situations. For our students, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Whether you are a missionary family living in a remote area of Africa, a promising student athlete with a demanding practice schedule, a home school student who needs to be challenged in math, or a student who simply works best independently in a quiet setting, GCSO is designed to accommodate your needs.
