The courses offered by GCSO have been carefully evaluated and reviewed by veteran instructors for their academic rigor and alignment with a Biblical worldview. When suitable curriculum is unavailable, GCSO has modified existing curriculum or developed its own courses. All GCSO courses meet or exceed state and national academic standards.

Rather than selecting a single content provider for all course content, GCSO instructors evaluate a wide-range of curriculum and select the option that meets state and national standards and is presented in an engaging and logical format that is easy for students to grasp.

Global Christian School Online licenses content from a variety of sources including Florida Virtual Schools, K12-Aventa, FYI Learning Online, and Accelerate Education.

Frequently instructors are unsatisfied with the curriculum that is presented for their review. When this occurs, GCSO uses its on-site curriculum development team to modify existing content to acceptable levels or to build courses from the ground up. With the flexibility to select the best curriculum available and the infrastructure to create and modify courses when necessary, GCSO is able to provide students with world-class curriculum.

GCSO is proud of the Bible courses that it has developed. These courses were written by instructors who have years of experience in both the traditional and online classroom. In addition, GCSO leverages the skills and experience of its on-site teaching staff to enhance licensed courses such as English 9 and 10 based on real-life classroom experience and a deep understanding of the needs of high school students.

Biblical Worldview

Using the solid academic foundation of secular content as a starting point, GCSO instructors are trained at integrating a Biblical worldview into each course through the modification of course assignments, the selection and replacement of reading material, the addition of course discussions, and the re-building of lessons.

For 40 years, Southfield Christian School, the parent organization of GCSO, has operated on a similar philosophy as it uses secular textbooks in a Christian context. Students graduating from Southfield Christian School are well equipped to meet both the academic rigor and spiritual challenges of the college environment. GCSO online high school students will be similarly prepared.
